Clovis Invitational - October 7
Clovis High School hosted the Asics Clovis Invitational on an unusually warm Saturday. The meet provides a preview of the state meet course held later on Thanksgiving weekend.
Bill Buettner Girls Championship Race
The two favorites in the girl's championship race, Sadie Engelhardt of Ventura and Rylee Blade of Santiago (Corona), led with a six second gap from the rest of the field at the one mile mark. At the two-mile mark, Engelhardt took a five second advantage and finished the 5000 meter race in a meet record time of 16:39.3. Blade finished second in a time of 16:45.8. Fifteen athletes broke the 18-minute barrier in the championships race.
JSerra girls dominated the team results with 72 points as Ventura (113) and Buchanan (128) took second and third. Santiago (Corona) also scored 128 points and finished fourth with the tiebreaker.

Rob Brenner Boys Championship Race
Anthony Fast Horse of Ventura, Lucas Cohen of Albany and Jason Parra of Millikan came through the mile mark at 4:37 in the boys championship race. Like his teammate Sadie Engelhardt, Fast Horse made the most of the second mile and stretched a four second lead and finished victorious in a time of 14:32.5. Emmanuel Perez of Cathedral, Evan Noonan of Dana Hills, Broen Holman of Sonora and Joshua Bell of Templeton all broke the fifteen minute barrier.
Dana Hills won the team championship with 124 points as Godinez transfer Jayden Hernandez ran his first race of the year for Dana HIlls and finished eleventh. Great Oak finished second with 129 points and Oakdale finished third with 152 points.

Small and Medium Varsity Girls
Elsa Krummel of Bay School of San Francisco won the small school race in 18:31.7 and Central Catholic of Oregon traveled south to win the team title with 82 points. Abby Errington of South Pasadena won the rated race at Woodbridge and kept her winning ways by breaking 18-minutes with a time of 17:44.1. Errington's first place finish helped South Pasadena win the team title with 97 points.

Small and Medium Varsity Boys
Landon Pretre of Menlo School ran the fastest time on the Friday portion of the Woodbridge Invitational and set the early standard in the boys with a 14:52.0 win. Foothill Technology won the small school boy's title with 132 points. Zion Ortiz of Burroughs Ridgecrest pulled away from the field in the medium varsity race to win in a time of 15:22.9. St. John Bosco won the medium varsity race with 148 points.

Large and X-Large Varsity Girls
Marley McCullough of Newport Harbor broke up a pack of runners to win the large school varsity race in 18:21.5. El Toro dominated the large school race with 68 points. Emilia Greenway of Crescenta Valley won by 30-seconds in the XL varsity girls race. Oakridge edged out Carson, Nevada for the team title.

Large and X-Large Varsity Boys
Griffen Kushen of Tesoro won convincing fashion in the large school varsity division in a time of 15:30.7. Hart won the team award with 162 points. Sebastian Peraza won the XL varsity boys division in a time of 15:42.4 and Bellarmine College Prep took the team title with 147 points.
