Oregon 1A/2A/3A
Oregon Episcopal girls will be the favorites going into Saturday’s 1A/2A/3A meet with Siuslaw and Union hoping to challenge. Jaya Simmons of Valley Catholic, Lauren Tittel of Oregon Episcopal and defending 1A/2A/3A champion Daisy Lalonde of East Linn Christian will be aiming to be the individual champion. Knappa boys hope to defend their 1A/2A title and Union will bring a strong challenge. Grady Greenwood of Heppner, Eli Williams of Union and Wyatt Jacobson of Knappa are the individuals to watch. Valley Catholic boys look to be the favorites in the 3A race with Oregon Episcopal and Banks pushing the Valiants of Valley Catholic. Jayden Warner of Warrenton, Trevor Stewart of Vale and Jonah Lyman of Enterprise are some of the top 3A athletes.
Oregon 4A
Philomath and La Grande girls look to be the top 4A teams with Cecilia Villagomez and Brooke Perry of La Grande and Isabela Coffman of Klamath Union vying for individual titles. Newport, Crook County and The Dalles boys are some of the top 4A schools. Carter Bengtson of Cottage Grove, Kael Feeley of Phoenix and Jaxson Stovall of Marshfield are individual champion contenders.
Oregon 5A
Summit girls have won 14 consecutive state cross country titles and they will be pushed this year to retain their title. Crater and Crescent Valley girls are ready to compete this year with Summit and will make for an exciting race Saturday. Emily Wisniewski of Crescent Valley is the two-time defending 5A champion and has run a minute faster than the rest of the field this year. Mackenzie Bigej of Canby, Emma West of Crater, Lillian Weiss of Crescent Valley and Artana Nice of North Eugene are other top 5A athletes. The 5A boys looks to be a two-team race for the title between Crater and Summit. Josiah Tostenson, Shaun Garnica and Tayvon Kitchen of Crater, Noah Laughlin-Hall and Hayden Boaz of Summit will be the top 5A boys.
Oregon 6A
In the 6A girls, Lincoln and defending 6A champion Jesuit have been close all year. Individual athletes to watch include Oregon newcomer Chloe Huyler of Lakeridge (Huyler ran last year in Nevada), freshman Ellery Lincoln of Lincoln, Nelida Dalgas of North Salem, Emma Bennett of Jesuit and Sophia Malinoski of Lincoln. The team championship for the 6A boys could be a battle between defending champion Jesuit and Franklin. Asher Danielson of Ida B Wells has won several invitationals from the Night Meet to Nike Portland XC to the Rose City Championships and is considered the favorite. Jack Meier of West Salem, Caden Swanson of Jesuit, Zafer Courcelle of Franklin and Matthew Wroblewski of Jesuit are other contenders.

Washington State Meet – November 4

Washington 1A/1B/2B
Based on the recent Washington state polls, the top 1B/2B girl's teams include Pope John Paul II and Liberty Bell and Lakeside-Nine Mile and Medical Lake girls expected to battle in 1A. Top 1B/2B individuals include Allie Robertson of NW Christian (Colbert) and freshman Ruby Henry of Pope John Paul. Aliyah Yearian of Port Townsend (East Jefferson) and Haley Schweppe of Montesano have some of the top times in 1A. Alexis Leone of Seton Catholic is the two-time defending champion and has only run one race this season. For the boys, Valley Christian and Pope John Paul II are the top 1B/2B contenders. Cedar Park Christian and Lakeside-Nine Mile are the top ranked teams in the boys 1A. Benjamin Morales of St Georges and Dexter Delaney of Liberty Bell have both run 15:40 or faster on a 5000-meter course this fall and are looking to win the 1B/2B championship. William Reeves of Eastside Prep and Will Carroll of Annie Wright are the top 1A athletes.
Washington 2A
Sehome, Acacortes and Ellensburg are the top three ranked girls 2A schools in the recent poll. Logan Hoftsee of East Valley (Spokane) is the defending 2A state champion and won the District 8 Championship Meet by over a minute and is the clear favorite. Cate Griggs of Anacortes and Danica Allen of Ridgefield are other strong 2A girls. The top three ranked teams in the boys 2A mirrors the girls 2A ranking with Sehome, Anacortes and Ellensburg also ranked in the top three. Parker Mong of Acacortes has raced in dominant fashion this fall and hopes to win the 2A individual championship. Hayden Roberts of Ephrata and McCoy Brooks of Enumclaw have also had fine senior seasons and will be ones to watch in the 2A race.
Washington 3A
Central Kitsap girls are the defending 3A champion and hope to repeat on Saturday. Gig Harbor and Bishop Blanchet are other contenders in the 3A race. Sister duo of Sophia and Victoria Rodriguez of Mercer Island, Elektra Higgins Peninsula, Lathan West of Bonney Lake and Cassidy Armstrong of Ballard are all top 3A athletes racing Saturday. Seattle Prep, Shorewood and Mercer Island 3A boys are the top ranked schools. Owen Powell won the 3A 1600-meter state track championship last May. Can he add a cross country title next week? Vincent Recupero of Bishop Blanchet, Jonathan Miles of Gig Harbor, Micaiah Aden of North Central and Kade Brownell of Mt Spokane will be ready on Saturday.
Washington 4A
Mt Si, Issaquah and West Valley-Yakima are the top ranked girls 4A schools. Anna Callahan of Skyline won the 4A race last November and hopes to defend the title. Her teammate Rebecca O’Keefe of Skyline will also be a factor in the race. What makes Mt Si the favorite to win the team title are their top three runners Hailey and Aleeya Cossey and Addison Craig. Charlotte Wilson of Union and Kylah Madariaga of Wenatchee have enjoyed a great fall campaign. Issaquah boys come into the 4A meet as defending champions and the #1 ranked team in 4A Washington. Kamiakin and Lewis and Clark are challengers. Zachary Leader of Redmond, Connor Rickey, Alexander Yahn, Brennen Rickey of Issaquah, Caden Casteel of West Valley (Yakima), Cooper Boyle of Tahoma and Ezra Teeples of Kamiakin will make for a competitive 4A individual race.
