University of Washington hosts its first indoor meet of the 2024-2025 season at their on campus Dempsey facility. Friday's distance races include the 1000 meter races featuring professional athletes Sinclaire Johnson and Gabija Galvydyte and University of Portland's Laura Pellicoro. Crater's Josiah Tostenson races in the fast heat of the men's 1000. Pellicoro is also in the 800 along with Washington's Amina Maatoug and San Diego State's Lauren Harper. Zofia Dudek of Stanford and pros Katie Osika and Melissa Tanaka are featured in the women's 3000. The men's 3000 has familiar names like Crater's Tayvon Kitchen, Stanford's Cole Sprout, Leo and Lex Young, Tyrone Gorze of Washington and Rory Linkletter of Puma.

On Saturday at the Dempsey is dedicated to the mile. There are 48 heats of the mile as athletes of all ability levels compete on the oval at Dempsey. Sophia Kennedy and Juliette Whitaker of Stanford, recent Arkansas transfer Mia Cochran of Washington, Julia David-Smith and Claire Yerby of Washington, Grace Fetherstonhaugh and Rebecca Mehra are in the final elite women's mile.

High school girl athletes of note include recent Gatorade Oregon Cross Country POY Chloe Huyler of Lakeridge and Washington Gatorade Cross Country POY Sophia Rodriguez of Mercer Island. Other high school athletes racing are Elektra Higgins of Peninsula, Victoria Rodriguez of Mercer Island, Cassidy Armstrong of Ballard, Hannah Huyler of Lakeridge, Julia Couch of Auburn Riverside, Alexa Matora of Lake Washington, Sophie Schoolmeester of Banks, Clare Herring and Taylor Palmer of Central Kitsap and Daphne Evenson of Skyview.


The elite men's mile includes Nathan Green, Leo Daschback, Ronan McMahon-Staggs of Washington, Cole Sprout of Washington, Matt Strangio of Portland and pros Joe Waskom, Sam Prakel.and Sam Ellis.

High school athletes racing the mile include future Washington Huskies Owen Powell of Mercer Island and Josiah Tostenson of Crater. Other notable high school races include Zafer Courcelle and Brennan McEwen of Franklin, Ezra Teeples of Kamiakin, Ty Cirino of Centra and Mason Morical of Caldera,
